Gay marrage is on trial and the jury is heteroual and you are the lawyer?

My argument would be: why are so many people opposed to gay marriage? It's just the joining of two people who are in love. When there is so much evil in this world, so many people doing bad things, why is so much focus placed upon law abiding citizens who are different only in that they love a member of the same ?
