How do you put 'old hollywood glamour' makeup?

this is a very clic look and its hot for fall! its probably best not to go full on '40's or you'll look like you're wearing a costume. first make your skin even as possible with a dusting of translucent powder over your foundation (matte skin is very old Hollywood) but if you prefer a more natural look go with dewy skin. you don't need a ton of color on the cheeks but to keep from looking washed out apply a little blusher on your cheek bones. with true old Hollywood makeup you need to apply black liquid liner to the top lid winging out the line slightly at the corners followed by several coats of mascara. if you want a more natural look apply regular liner in black or dark brown smudged across the top lid line. then of course you have the red lips. go with a more pinky blue based red if your skin is fair or more Burgundy based if your olive. a true red-red can work on most (but is hard to find) i like to prep my lips with a moisturizing balm, let it dry, then fill in my entire lip with a red lip liner, put on the lipstick with a brush, then blot and apply a little balm. these steps will make it last.
